Fighting suicidal thoughts ~ Almost Out of Hope

I've been fighting suicidal thoughts for the past couple years.

Everyone I talk to just says 'Dont'.

I'm not allowed to get therapy or counseling so I've just been holding on to hope that it'll get better while it's only getting worse.

Recently all my friends got tighter and left me behind which who's fault it is, I don't care.

It still hurts.

I've also committed to commitments that I don't want to be a part of anymore but I don't know how to say no, even for my mental health.

What do I do?

Can you help?

- Almost Out of Hope

Dear Almost Out of Hope,

I'm here for you and I care.

You're not alone in feeling overwhelmed and struggling with suicidal thoughts.

It takes immense strength and courage to reach out for help, and I want you to know that I'm here to listen and support you.

It's important to remember that there are resources available to you, even if you don't have access to therapy or counseling.

You can reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) for 24/7 support and guidance.

It's also important to find someone you trust to talk to, such as a close family member or a teacher, and express your feelings and experiences to them.

As for the commitments that you don't want to be a part of, it's important to prioritize your mental health and well-being.

It's okay to say no, even if it feels difficult. (I'm giving you permission to say that your Therapist you talked to said to say no. You can throw me under the bus, sometimes that makes saying no easier.)

You deserve to take care of yourself and feel comfortable in your own skin.

It might also help to have a trusted person to confide in and to help you find the words to communicate your needs.

Remember that change takes time and it's okay to go at your own pace.

Take small steps towards feeling better, such as engaging in activities that bring you joy or reaching out to someone for support.

Your feelings are valid and it's not your fault that your friends have distanced themselves.

You are deserving of love, care and support.

I want you to know that you're not alone and that help is available to you.

Please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline if you need someone to talk to right now.

I hope you know that I'm also here for you and I care.
